It all started with a sex scene…

Well, I was failing to write a sex scene.

As an author of over fifty smut books, I was struggling to do what I did best. So, for fun, I asked one of my best online friends for some help.

I really shouldn’t have done that…

He wrote the scene far better than I ever could, and seven months of platonic, yet-flirty friendship were wiped away in ten minutes.

He asked to meet me in person…

We’d previously agreed to keep things digital, to remain faceless friends—since he was forty-two, and I was twenty-six, but neither of us could resist.

When I saw him at the airport, I was instantly attracted to him.

But I knew, right then and there, that we could never be.

It turns out that the man I’d been talking to for the past several months was the last person I expected.

The last person I should ever think about…

He’s my dad’s best friend.

Ok, this was a very short one. Very, very short. And it promised to be steamy and hot, but it wasn't just all that. It had a story that was written very poorly because it's so short and while I understand the concept of a novella and have read many before, this felt like it was rushed.

The idea of the story is ... alright. It's not anything new because I've read this kind (dad's best friend) before and, let me say, you can quickly go wrong with this concept.

Why I'm giving this book 2.5 stars only? For starters, while I really liked the beginning of the story and the ending, I admit, was very, very cute, I didn't enjoy the middle part. When they both meet for the first time, it's weird. And then it's rushed. It seems like the author wanted to just skip to the steamy parts of the book, but that resulted in many unanswered questions and the weird feeling of the whole scene because it just jumped to the sex. Basically.

I felt no chemistry between the characters. Therefore, the book wasn't that steamy or hot as it was promising to be.

It was supposed to give you that forbidden vibe and feeling and I just didn't feel it with this book because, again, this story had potential, but it was too rushed.

This was a very quick read for me and this book didn't really do it for me. I didn't get the feel of it and this is actually painful to say, because I love Whitney G.'s work. Just not a fan of this particular one.
