Kristen Ashley is my go-to author when I'm in need of a good romance book where I can read about macho men. She's one of the rare ones that can write some amazing male characters and I can never give her books a bad rating because they all suck me in from the first page.

This is the second book in the series and I have to say it's good, but it's not as good as the first one.

I didn't care much for the drama in this story and it was kind of boring to me because it seemed it's there just because there has to be something happening.

I also didn't feel Ryn and Boone in the first half of the book because it was all too weird, but their romance made up in the last half.

Also, this is a book that has some BDSM in it, but Ryn's perception of it was just weird to me because whenever Boone said something, Ryn questioned if this was Boone thing or a Dom thing and that was slightly bothering me because it was just unnecessary, in my opinion.

But this book was still a pretty solid read. This is Kristen Ashley we're talking about. You can't go wrong by picking up her books because she can write romance like no one else.

Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA. She nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorise and she hadn't taken her first breath!).

Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana but has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write.

Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multi-generational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland and existed amongst the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).

Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.

And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.

Dream Maker by Kristen Ashley

She takes a job dancing at Smithie's club thinking this would be a quick side gig, where she can make the money she needs. But with her lack of dancing skills and an alpha bad boy who becomes overly protective, Evie realizes this might not be as easy as she thought.

Daniel "Mag" Magnusson knows a thing or two about pain, but the mask he wears is excellent. No one can tell that this good-looking, quick-witted, and roguish guy has deep-seated issues. Mag puts on a funny-guy routine so he can hide his broken heart and PTSD. But when Evie dances her way into Mag's life, he realizes that he needs to come face-to-face with the demons of his past if he wants a future with her.

I don't think it's possible to pick up Kristen Ashley's book and not love it. Honestly. Her writing is ah-mazing. And the alpha men in her books are impossible to not love. They always make you feel some type of way; every single one of them.

I don't even know what to say about this book other than it blew my mind, just like every other book I've read from this author. You can never go wrong by picking up one of her books, I promise.

Evie has a shitty family and an incredibly big heart. When she decides to help her brother, who's in prison, she runs into the wrong people and gets into a lot of trouble.

Daniel, or "Mag" / "Danny" as he likes to be called (depends on who the person is), is there to save her. He's also a possessive man (hot!) and he claims her as his immediately (also hot!).

The thing with the books from this author is, there are always men who come off as bossy, but it's always written in the right way and they don't come out as assholes.

This is the trope in Ashley's books, there's always a woman who gets into trouble and an alpha man comes to save the day. Although it's predictable, I promise it never gets boring because the writing is so amazingly good that those 500+ pages feel like 50 pages. There's always something happening and you never get bored.

There was also a lot of references to the Rock Chick series by her, which reminded me that I need to pick up the first book and try it again the second time because I couldn't get into it the first time I read it and, therefore, I remember not enjoying it.
