I just love a good old enemies-to-lovers story. Honestly, in short words, this book was really, really good. The writing was incredible, as always. L. J. Shen is really the queen of writing this kind of stories.
I have to say I didn't like Daria at first. She was too bitchy, too self-absorbed and overall not really a nice person. But her actions were justified and I later understood her motives for her actions. Daria was the Queen B, the bitchy girl no one dared to go against because she had the upper hand and everyone knew it. Or everyone thought they knew, but in reality, they didn't.
Daria had a group of friends that was ... special. Very flawed and not really friends that a person would normally choose or even want.
And then Penn came back into her life to make it even harder. Or he thought so. He actually made it a whole lot better for her because he ended up being the only person who really cared and who really saw her for who she is.
Pretty Reckless is a book of plot-twists and a whole lot of drama. It's about broken love, broken friendships and second chances.
Basically, another amazing read by L. J. Shen. I can't wait to read the stories about other characters in this book because they're all so complex and interesting in their own kind of way. They all have good stories to tell and I can't wait to hear them!
