If only she’d stop insulting me and stay in one place long enough for me to tell her. She wouldn’t try to drown me with a tub of ice cream, right?

Tara Sivec does it all over again: making me fall in love with her book.

I swear to God, she knows her humour and she knows how to make someone full-out laugh.

I absolutely loved the characters again (nothing changed about that from the first book) and I absolutely loved the banter between Wren and Shepherd. Tara Sivec knows how to create perfect couples, it seems, because Wren and Shepherd were an absolute joy to read about.

Wren is a single mom and Shepherd and she used to know each other from the school until he moved away and became a pretty big deal in baseball. They reconnected on social media when Wren used to put videos of her son playing baseball up and Shepherd decided to comment on that. They became pen pals until Shepherd, all of a sudden, cut ties off and stopped responding unexpectedly.

When Shepherd shows up at the Summersweet Island completely unannounced, Wren realises how much grudge she's still holding against him. He's been her crush since school days and he went and unknowingly broke her heart.

Shepherd, however, came there on a mission and his mission is to make Wren forgive him and make her his. It's a tough task, especially when Wren, who's usually calm and collected, seems to lose her shit every time she's around him and tells him off.

But Shepherd kind of knows that a way to her heart might be her son and he takes that to his advantage since he's his coach now.

I loved how much Wren grew out of her reserved and held-back character. I also loved that all of the characters had flaws and made mistakes and nobody was absolutely perfect as it can be seen in other books that just creates an unrealistic picture.

I can't say anything bad about this book. I love this series and I'm so excited about the third book that's coming out next year!

Well, except maybe one person. It’s been two years since I last set foot on Summersweet Island or spoke to anyone there. But I’m sure Birdie Bennett, my best friend since I was 15 and the clubhouse manager of my favorite golf course, has had plenty of time to forgive me for that tiny little misunderstanding where I blocked her on social media and blocked her in my phone. Oh, and I guess I kind of, sort of accused her of being a stalker. It’s fine!

Once my sexy, spunky, former best friend gets over the shock of seeing me again and stops trying to drive a 9-iron into my skull, I can finally let her know I’ve also kind of, sort of always been in love with her...

This book was filled with sexual tension, super cute and funny moments and I loved every second reading it.

I basically ate this book up because I didn't have a choice, really. I loved the characters in this book and I love the banter between Palmer and Birdie.

I loved Birdie. She was funny and charming with a cup of seriousness that was just enough.

And I loved Palmer. He was just ... awesome. Nice, charming, easy-going and with a lot of patience when it came to Birdie.

Birdie and Palmer's story started years ago, but it ended quite unexpectedly and without any explanation. Birdie has been holding a grudge for fifteen years and when Palmer comes back with a good explanation of what happened, that leaves her confused, but also hopeful because it means they could be something more.

They were tiptoeing around each-other at first, both of them seeking advice from their friends, but the pull between them was hard to ignore and Palmer was also hard to resist so Birdie really had no chance of ignoring him and keeping the grudge against him.

I don't have anything bad to say about this book because it was quite a fun read. The sexual tension was so strong here that you could taste it. I loved the dirty talking without it being too dirty and I loved the hidden suggestions and sentences with double meaning because it made this book even more interesting and fun to read.

I also loved Birdie's best friend. She was no-nonsense, a woman who knows what she wants and isn't afraid to go after it.

I'm excited to read about Birdie's sister, Wren, where it was hinted at the end that it's going to be another fun book to read that involves a big-shot golf player who'll most likely have to win over a strong-headed woman, just like her sister.
