A desperate passion, a dangerous love story...

Eleanor Cole had no idea that when she met the charmingly irresistible Becker Hunt, she was putting her life on the line. So when she discovers his secrets, escape seems to be her only option - but Becker isn't ready to let Eleanor go.

She knows better than to fall into his corrupt world again, but how long can she resist when he's stolen her heart?

Eleanor must make a choice, to stay and follow Becker into the heart of the danger...or risk losing him forever!

Becker Hunt is back and this time he's not letting Eleanor walk away...

Well, this was quite disappointing if I'm honest. I'm giving this 2.75 stars. I expected so much more from it.

I wanted a love story here. We all know the first book ends in a way that made you grip your chair in frustration and we all wanted answers.

But this book ... There was so much of stupid and unnecessary drama and too much of ass spanking (and talk about ass spanking). I kind of liked Becker in the first book, but I strongly disliked him in this book because
  1. he's an idiot
  2. he was being secretive and hiding things from Eleanor, even when she begs him to be truthful and open with her if he loves and trusts her
  3. his 'shut the fuck ups' towards Eleanor made me want to slap him across the face because that was not cute. At all.
  4. being super friendly with other females in front of Eleanor and teasing her for it when she mentioned it.
And then we have Eleanor. Always the forgiving one. No matter how many times Becker messes up (it's a lot, by the way) and no matter how hugely he messes up (and, believe me, some of his mistakes are enormous).

Eleanor repeatedly told him that he has to choose between her and the treasure and he told her he's choosing her, but he didn't do that and he continued with his secrets, even when Eleanor threatened she's going to leave him.

Becker's love for Eleanor didn't really convince me (if we extract the love for her ass). A lot of chemistry was missing because it was replaced with too much drama and too many things happening all the time. We couldn't get a break and it was tiring.

I was annoyed by Eleanor because she was too forgiving, too needy almost and just acted childish.

And, of course, Becker was portrayed as this sexy genius and Eleanor was just ... there. Becker didn't even think about including her in his business. The feminist side in me didn't agree with this not one bit.

So, yes. Hugely disappointed in this book and it's a shame because I was really excited about it.

Jodi Ellen Malpas wrote her debut series, The This Man Trilogy, in secret, worried about what people might think if they knew what her imagination was capable of. She was shocked herself. But she finally found the courage to unleash her creative streak and self-published THIS MAN - the first book of the This Man Trilogy - in October 2012. She took a chance on a story with a hero who soon became one of modern day fictions most prolific alpha male characters.

Jesse Ward – also affectionately known as The Lord of The Manor, sparked incredible reactions from women across the globe and catapulted Jodi into the world of women’s fiction. With so much love and enthusiasm from her readers, and a thirst for more of her words, Jodi suddenly wasn't afraid of her imagination anymore. She went on to write The One Night Trilogy with the delectable and mysterious Miller Hart, and stole the hearts of her readers once again. She’s now a proud #1 New York Times bestselling author – all six of her published novels having hit the New York Times best sellers list – as well as a Sunday Times bestseller and international best seller. Her work is published in over 20 languages across the world.

Jodi was born and raised in the Midlands town of Northampton, England, where she lives with her two boys and a beagle. She is a self-professed daydreamer, a Converse & mojito addict, and has a terrible weak spot for Alpha Males.

Writing powerful love stories and creating addictive characters has become her passion – a passion she now shares with her devoted readers
