Release date: January 19, 2021
Series: The Game Changers #2
Genre: Romance

Homeless and heartbreakingly innocent, Giselle Riley walks into my penthouse and chaos follows.

I shouldn’t have invited the girl genius to live with me, but it’s clear she needs my help—not only for a place to lay her pretty blonde head but in finding real love, which she’s not going to get with the crazy men she picks up online.

Too bad she’s a twenty-four-year-old virgin and I’m a bad boy wide receiver. She’s off limits for a hardcore player like me—and we’re just friends.

Instead, I’m her matchmaking service, no matter how jealous it makes me when I tag along on her dates.

I can keep my self-control. Right? No way will I give in to everything inside me that dreams of a girl like her in my world.

I may be the best wide receiver in the country, but how could I hold on to a girl like her?

I was a bit nervous to read this book because, well ... It's about Giselle. And if you've read the first book - Not My Romeo - you know that Giselle isn't really heartbreakingly innocent as it says right there in the synopsis. To remind you: Giselle is Elena's sister and she was engaged to her ex. Yep. Wild.

But I have to say I quite enjoyed this book. It had some clichés, but I didn't mind them. Giselle has redeemed herself, although I was expecting a little bit more backstory on her ex-fiancé and some real reason why she got engaged to her sister's ex.

In Not My Match, Giselle and Devlin tiptoe around each other. Devlin knows she's off-limits for him because, not only is his teammate's sister in law, but she's also a virgin.

Giselle and Devlin's world are a little different, but when they collide ... It's interesting, I'll say. Giselle is set on losing her virginity before she turns 24 and Devlin promises to help her by choosing her dates and he even goes with her on the said dates to make sure all the men treat her right and they don't go off the rails.

But Giselle has her eyes set on him already and she doesn't know how to tell him that because she's too unsure about what he's feeling.

So, we have Devlin gritting his teeth on all her dates on one side and an unsure Giselle that wants to seduce Devlin on the other one.

I'll admit this was a fun read. I like this storyline slightly more than in the first book, but Giselle was a tough character for me because she was sweet in this book, but I still held some grudge towards her from the first book and that was hanging over my head when I was reading the book.

But if I ignore that and push it aside and try to forgive her like her sister did, it was a solid and fun read about two opposite characters who are a little too stubborn and proud.
