Can the fiercest master of battle conquer a woman’s heart?

They call him the Demon Highlander. The fearsome Lieutenant Colonel Liam MacKenzie is known for his superhuman strength, towering presence, and fiery passion in the heat of battle. As Laird to the MacKenzie clan, the undefeated Marquess has vanquished his foes with all rage and wrath of his barbaric Highland ancestors. But when an English governess arrives to care for his children, the master of war finds himself up against his greatest opponent... in the game of love.

Defying all expectations, Miss Philomena is no plain-faced spinster but a ravishing beauty with voluptuous curves and haughty full lips that rattle the Laird to his core. Unintimidated by her master’s raw masculinity and savage ways, the headstrong lass manages to tame not only his wild children but the beast in his soul. With each passing day, Liam grows fonder of Miss Mena—and more suspicious. What secret is she hiding behind those emerald eyes? What darkness brought her to his keep? And how can he conquer this magnificent woman’s heart... without surrendering his own?

A woman with a broken past and a man, who's not used to gentleness, falling head over heels in love with her and liberating her from all her demons? We love to see it!

This book was just one emotional rollercoaster. There was never a dull moment in this book because there was just always something going on. Mena was running away from her past with the help of her new friends. She gets a chance at a new life and she grabs it with both of her hands.

Mena is not ready for love, nor does she expect it to happen when she meets Liam MacKenzie, who people even call demon. Liam MacKenzie has a rich past, too, and is now left with two kids who need someone to lead them on the right path. This is where Mena steps in.

The sparks fly between Mena and Liam the first time they meet and it only goes up in flames after that. They tiptoe around each other for a long time, although the attraction between them is undeniable. Mena is scared to start something with him. She's also still married and on the run, which Liam doesn't know.

Things get complicated when demons from Liam's past and Lena's past collide and come back to make their life a living hell. They're both put in a tough spot and Liam is faced with a dilemma when he finds out who Mena truly is. He has to decide whether to trust her or believe others about who she truly is.

This book was an amazing read! This book was filled with drama and interweaving pasts. It's a book about second chances and a strong female character that gets another chance in love and life.

I absolutely loved the writing. It was so beautiful, the words really carved into your soul. Kerrigan Byrne certainly never disappoints with her book! She's easily one of my favourite writers of historical romance.

If you're anything like me, the best night is one spent with a brawny highlander, a mysterious werewolf, a conflicted vampire, or a hot-headed Irishman. My stories span the spectrum of romantic fiction from historical, to paranormal, to romantic suspense. But I can always promise my readers one thing: memorable and sexy Celtic heroes who are guaranteed to heat your blood before they steal your heart. Lose yourself in the enchanted Celtic Isles, you never know who, or what, will find you...
